How it works

Devine, Robinson and Miller each start from a base weight at 60 inches and add a set number of kilograms for every inch above 60. The page runs all three and shows the lowest and highest as your range. For a woman at 5 ft 5 in the height over 60 is 5 inches.

Worked example

A woman at 5 ft 5 in is 5 inches over 60. Multiply 5 by each step and add the base. Devine gives 45.5 + 2.3 × 5 = 57 kg. Robinson gives 49 + 1.7 × 5 = 57.5 kg. Miller gives 53.1 + 1.36 × 5 = 59.9 kg. In pounds that is 126 lb, 127 lb and 132 lb. The range is 126 to 132 lb.
